Amati Stainless Steel Valves vs. Trumpets with Standard Nickel Plated or Monel Valves
No matter what the brand name or the cost, the vast majority of student trumpets offered by other manufactures have relatively loose tolerance nickel plated or Monel valve assemblies compared to Amati instruments. The primary disadvantage of a student instrument with loose tolerance nickel plated or Monel valves is that they can not play as well as an Amati instrument with very close tolerance precision Stainless Steel Valves. Other student trumpets with loose tolerance nickel plated or Monel valves will also normally require copious amounts of oil to get the valves to seal properly so that the instrument can be played. Amati instruments work best with only one or two drops of oil. Other brands of trumpets normally don't offer close tolerance valves in their instruments until you reach the Intermediate or Professional level in their lines of instruments. Even then most other brands of trumpets are not yet offering anything but Monel plated valves in their intermediate or professional trumpets. Amati offers professional level state of the art precision Stainless steel valves in all of their instruments.

The Amati ATR 307 Semi-Professional and the ATR 604H Professional models have similar specifications to the ATR 213 but are hand crafted by one person instead of several, and have the following differences:
ATR 307: The lead pipe has a different more aggressive taper than the 213, the 2 piece bell is hand formed and the brace and slide positioning is individually selected by the craftsman for each instruments particular resonance tuning points.
ATR 604H:Same specifications as the 307 but with a hand formed tempered one piece bell for a slightly darker more focused tone, thick, engraved forged plate lead pipe to bell braces, a large diameter high mass tuning slide brace, high mass top and bottom valve caps are used for each individual instruments optimum resonance tuning adjustments. Deluxe Wood case. The relationship of all of the components of the Amati 604H come together to create a superlative work of art that enables the ultimate flexibility in the artists expression .
The Amati instruments are very unusual in that the cost of these instrument is currently far below what one would normally expect to pay for instruments of this extraordinary caliber.
